Hur tillverkas acetat?
Acetat är ett material som tillverkas av bomull, torkas och mals ned till cellulosapulver som behandlas med syra för att skapa råmaterialet som sedan pressas till acetatbitar.
Hur tillverkas fibrer?
Fibrerna tillverkas genom att lösningen pressas genom ett munstycke med små hål, så kallade spinndysor och sen klipps av i önskad längd. Regenatfiber, även kallat lyocell, har också ett naturligt ursprung. Råvaran är cellulosa från exempelvis bokträd, bambu, tall, gran eller eukalyptus.
Är akryl bra för miljön?
Akryl är en av de äldsta syntetiska fibrerna, ändå finns det lite information om dess miljöpåverkan. Det vi vet är att det går åt mycket energi och kemikalier under hela tillverkningsprocessen, vilket gör att påverkan från akryl är högre än för de flesta andra textilier.
Vad är en Filamentfiber?
Ofta är en textilfiber lång och smal, vanligen mindre än 0,1 millimeter i diameter, dock är längden minst 100 gånger diametern. Det finns både långa och korta fibrer, långa fibrer brukar kallas för filamentfibrer och korta fibrer brukar kallas för stapelfibrer.
