Vad gör man i ABF?
Arbetarnas Bildningsförbund (ABF) är Sveriges ledande studieförbund. Vi erbjuder studiecirklar, kurser, föreläsningar samt kulturarrangemang i alla landets kommuner.
Varför ABF?
ABF kan hjälpa till med alla frågor som handlar om studier och kultur. Vi kan vara bollplank och inspirera med idéer om hur ni kan planera er studieverksamhet. Studiecirklar, tematräffar, föreläsningar och kanske specialskrivna studiematerial gör era medlemmar bildade inom det område ni önskar.
Är ABF statligt?
ABFs verksamhet finansieras till största delen med bidrag från stat, region och kommun samt med avgifter från deltagare och medlemsorganisationer. Alla studieförbund och folkhögskolor får statsbidrag för folkbildningsverksamhet som genomförs enligt statens krav.
Vem startade ABF?
ABF bildades för över 100 år sedan, den 16 november 1912. Bakom grundandet stod Socialdemokraterna, LO och Kooperativa Förbundet. Initiativet till förbundet togs av socialdemokraten och folkbildaren Rickard Sandler. Tanken var att samordna och utveckla den bildningsverksamhet som redan pågick inom arbetarrörelsen.
