Vad är segmentell vitiligo?
Vitiligo är en förvärvad hudsjukdom som medför fläckvis förlust av pigmentceller i ytterhud och ibland i hårfolliklar. Sjukdomen medför välavgränsade, vita, makulära områden i huden, ibland med vita hårstrån i de drabbade områdena. Sjukdomen delas in i generaliserad och segmentell vitiligo.
Måste man behandla vitiligo?
Vitiligo är en så kallad autoimmun sjukdom. Vid en autoimmun sjukdom angriper immunsystemet kroppens egna celler. Sjukdomen brukar inte gå över men den är ofarlig.
