Är Metacam antiinflammatoriskt?
Metacam är ett antiinflammatoriskt läkemedel som ges till nötkreatur, svin, hästar, hundar, katter och marsvin. Till nötkreatur ges Metacam tillsammans med antibiotika för att minska kliniska symtom såsom feber och inflammation vid akut (kortvarig) luftvägsinfektion (infektion i lungor och luftvägar).
Vad är Metacam hund?
Lindring av inflammation och smärta vid både akuta och kroniska sjukdomar i muskler, leder och skelett hos hundar.
Hur länge sitter Metacam i?
Dosering. Administreras antingen blandat med foder eller direkt i munnen med doseringen 0,6 mg/kg kroppsvikt, en gång dagligen i upp till 14 dagar. Om läkemedlet blandas i fodret skall den ges i en liten fodergiva strax före utfodringen. Suspensionen ges med den Metacam doseringsspruta som finns bilagd i förpackningen.

Is meloxicam a carcinogen?
No carcinogenic effect of meloxicam was observed in rats given oral doses up to 0.8 mg/kg/day (approximately 0.4-fold the human dose at 15 mg/day for a 50 kg adult based on body surface area conversion) for 104 weeks or in mice given oral doses up to 8.0 mg/kg/day (approximately 2.2-fold the human dose, as noted above) for 99 weeks.
What should I look for when buying meloxicam?
Check the label to see if a medicine contains an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) such as aspirin, ibuprofen, ketoprofen, or naproxen. Meloxicam can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke, especially if you use it long term or take high doses, or if you have heart disease.
