Vad är en Lungnoduli?
En lungnodul eller ”prick” i lungan kan vara en tidig lungcancer. Noduler upptäcks ofta vid akut skiktröntgen av lungorna, t. ex. efter trafikolyckor.
Vad är ground glass förtätningar?
Ground glass beskriver ett område med lätt ökad attenuering genom vilken kärl och bronker kan ses. Ett luftbronkogram är en luftfylld bronk som framträder genom en konsolidering. Retikulärt mönster är linjära förtätningar som bildar nätverksmönster till följd av förtjockade inter- och intralobulärsepta.
Vad är interstitiell pneumoni?
Lungfibros innebär bindvävsomvandling av lungvävnaden. Den mest välstuderade är idiopatisk lungfibros (IPF), där etiologin är okänd och som morfologiskt motsvaras av UIP (”usual interstitial pneumonia”). I Sverige har tidigare även benämningen ”Idiopatisk fibroserande alveolit” använts.

Vad är Nodulär förändring?
I samband med radiologisk utredning upptäcks ibland accidentellt små förändringar i lungorna, noduli, som ger upphov till frågor. Detta gäller vid storlek upp till 10 mm. Ju större en förändring är desto större är malignitetsrisken. Denna typ av förändringar bör bedömas av en lungläkare.
What is a lung nodule?
A lung nodule is defined as a “spot” on the lung that is 3 centimeters (about 1.5 inches) in diameter or less.
How are lung nodules treated?
The treatment of lung nodules varies widely depending on the diagnosis. Most benign lung nodules can be left alone, especially those seen on previous imaging tests that haven’t changed for two or more years. If your nodule is cancerous, detection at this small size is very curable.
How do you get a sample of lung nodule?
A small tweezer on the end of the bronchoscope can be used to get a sample of the nodule. If the nodule is in the outer part of the lung, the doctor might pass a thin, hollow needle through the skin of the chest wall (with the guidance of a CT scan) and into the nodule to get a sample.
How can you tell if a nodule has grown?
This is based on the size, shape, and location of the nodule, as well as whether it appears to be solid or filled with fluid. If a repeat scan shows that the nodule has grown, your doctor might also want to get another type of imaging test called a positron emission tomography (PET) scan, which can often help tell if it is cancer.
