Vilket land är störst på whisky?
I USA tillverkas många sorters whiskey. Den mest kända är bourbon som tillverkas av minst 51 procent majs och som mest av 80 procent. Vid över 80 % majs blir benämningen istället corn whiskey, Resten består av vete och/eller råg och korn.
Är viss whisky?
Det som är gemensamt för all typ av whisky är att det är ett destillat gjort av säd, jäst och vatten och sedan lagrats i ekfat under viss tidsperiod. Resultatet är en dryck med hög alkoholhalt som kallas Whisky och som stavas med”e”, Whiskey, när den kommer från Amerika eller Irland.

By 1862, sales averaged 100,000 gallons each year.

Who was John Walker Purves?
Walker, being a savvy businessman, made his whiskey through blending, giving him the ability to maintain good flavor quality in every bottle. In 1833, John married Elizabeth Purves, who later gave birth to their first son, Alexander. John was known locally as a member of trade associations and the Freemasons.
