När kan man testa för syfilis?
Efter behandling av tidig syfilis får du gå på regelbundna blodprovskontroller tills proverna visar att infektionen är borta. Vanligtvis får du gå på efterkontroller efter tre, sex och tolv månader men ibland kan du behöva gå på kontroller under längre tid.

Is RPR titer reactive or non-reactive?
Just had a routine STD blood test screening done and was surprised by the results. RPR Titer was reactive 1:2. Confirmatory test FTA-ABS result is Non-Reactive. How long does a VDRL RPR titer remain positive?
Initially 2.5 years back, I had VDRL RPR titer of 1:16 and I took treatment post which titers went down to 1:4. Even now titers stand at 1:4 and is not becoming non reactive. Am I still infected? Can I marry and have kids? The test result can remain positive for months to years after successful treatment.

What does a titer of 1 32 mean?
The interpretation of any serological titer result is guided by reference values that are specific to the antigen or antibody in question, so a titer of 1:32 may be below the cut-off for one test but above for another. A viral titer is the lowest concentration of a virus that still infects cells.
