Hur utreder man yrsel?
What is nystagmus of the eye?

They can move: side to side (horizontal nystagmus) up and down (vertical nystagmus) in a circle (rotary nystagmus) The movement can vary between slow and fast and usually happens in both eyes. The eyes may shake more when looking in certain directions.
What tests are used to diagnose nystagmus?
Other tests that may be used to diagnose nystagmus are: 1 eye-movement recordings (to confirm the type of nystagmus and see details of the eye movements) 2 an ear exam 3 a neurological exam 4 tests to get images of the brain, including computerized tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
Which ocular motor abnormalities are associated with strabismus (nystagmus)?
4. Identify associated ocular motor abnormalities. Nystagmus caused by lesions in the brain stem or cerebellum may be accompanied by certain types of strabismus, such as skew deviation, cranial nerve palsies or gaze palsies. In contrast, other forms of strabismus indicate a non-neurologic, congenital cause.
Do MRI scans read normal in children with nystagmus?
Four children in two unrelated families presented with nystagmus, ataxic gait, developmental delay and delayed speech to their primary care doctors. These children had MRI scans which were read as normal.
