Vid kärlkramp ges blodproppsförebyggande läkemedel som minskar blodplättarnas tendens att klumpa ihop sig, betablockerare som minskar hjärtmuskelns syrebehov genom att sänka blodtrycket och dämpa hjärtrytmen samt ibland även ett kärlvidgande läkemedel som kallas kalciumantagonist.
