Hur snabbt ändrar sig TSH?
När forskare studerade nivåerna av TSH, fritt T4 och fritt T3 hos patienter med hypotyreos som behandlades med T4+T3 1 gång per dag, fann man att nivåerna av TSH var nedtryckta under 5 timmar efter dos för att sedan stiga igen upp till 13 timmar efter dos och därefter stabiliseras.
Varför sjunker TSH?
Låga värden av TSH i blodet beror oftast på hypertyreos. Det innebär att sköldkörteln producerar för mycket T4 och T3. Hypertyreos är ett ansträngande tillstånd för kroppen och måste alltid behandlas.
Varför ökar TSH?
Subklinisk hypotyreos. Vanligare än primär hypotyreos är så kallad subklinisk hypotyreos där TSH är ökat upp till 10 mIU/l, men de perifera tyreoideahormonerna (fritt T3 och fritt T4) är normala. Symtomen är ospecifika, och korrelerar oftast inte med biokemin.

What is TSH (thyrotropin)?
The TSH or thyrotropin does not come from the thyroid itself but is instead secreted by the pituitary gland. Once it is secreted, the thyrotropin makes its way to the thyroid gland, where its receptors are located. Once the hormones attach to its receptors, it stimulates the thyroid gland to synthesize and release thyroid hormones.
Is TSH normal with this mutation?
The TSH with this mutation was found to have normal function, but almost half of the patients were inappropriately treated because their TSH levels were not detectable.
