Det traditionella sättet att fira Anzac dagen på, efter att ha närvarat vid soluppgången och sett paraden, är att ta sig till puben och där närvara och spela pengar på ett spel under namnet ”Two-up” (ett spel som var väldigt populärt hos soldaterna).

Den 25 april 1915 landsteg ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) på Gallipoli i västra Turkiet. Med det gjorde Anzac sitt inträde i första världskriget på de allierades sida, genom det brittiska imperiet, mot det osmanska rikets armé.

What is Anzac Cove and why is it important?

The area of the failed campaign is today known as ANZAC Cove, named after the combined force of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps which had their baptism of fire at Gallipoli, their first major military conflict as newly independent British Colonies.

De Anza Cove is located at 3000 North Mission Bay Drive in North Mission Bay. This park has a volleyball area, a tot lot, park benches, picnic tables, and a path for jogging or bike riding. There is also a boat launch ramp for both boats and jet skis, and a comfort station with showers.
