Hur planterar man en rhododendron?
Rododendron är en surjordsväxt och när du planterar skall jorden skall vara lucker och porös. Byt ut det mesta av den gamla jorden mot blåbärsjord, som är specialkomponerad och bästa tänkbara, eller blanda i naturell torv. Torr torv bör fuktas väl innan den blandas i planteringsgropen.
Varifrån kommer Azalea?
Vilda arter togs från Asien till Europa, och de azaleor vi använder idag är hybrider. Den äldsta sorten som fortfarande är i kommersiell odling är Kirin från 1919 som är en japonicaazalea med sitt ursprung av vildazalea från Asien.
När är det bäst att plantera rhododendron?
Rhododendron säljs alltid med klump eller kruka och kan planteras från vår till höst. Se till att plantorna är uppvattnade innan plantering. Plantorna placeras på den nivå de vuxit tidigare, rotklumpens övre yta skall endast komma en aning djupare än markytan. Vattna ordentlig och fortsätt vattna under torra perioder.
