Kan inte kissa diskbråck?
Om diskbråcket trycker mot de nerver som kontrollerar ringmusklerna i ändtarm och urinrör kan man få svårt att kontrollera både urin och avföring. Även känseln i underlivet och på insidan av låren kan påverkas. Det är allvarligt och innebär att diskbråcket måste opereras så fort som möjligt.
Kan inte kissa ont i ryggen?
Sök vård direkt på en vårdcentral eller jouröppen mottagning om du har ont i ryggen och har något av följande symtom: Du känner inte när du är kissnödig, eller kissar på dig. Du har domningar eller nedsatt känsel kring ändtarmen eller könsorganen. Du har domningar, stickningar eller svagheter i båda benen.
Vilken smärtlindring vid diskbråck?
Lumbala diskbråck bör initialt behandlas med adekvat smärtlindring (paracetamol/NSAID), men även medelstarka analgetika och ibland opioidanalgetika kan krävas. Gabapentin, antidepressiva och muskelrelaxerande preparat finns också att tillgå vid svår nervsmärta, dock med begränsat vetenskapligt stöd för effekter.
Is the cauda equina part of the nervous system?

Is the cauda equina CNS or PNS?
That the cauda equina is surrounded by the meninges does not mean it is part of the CNS. The blood vessels that supply the brain and spinal cord are (at least in part) covered by the meninges, but they are not part of the CNS–they are part of the cardiovascular system.
