Gruppen blev en av 80- och 90-talens största rockgrupper och är fortfarande en av de stora giganterna inom rockmusiken. Från början hette gruppen ”Feed back” och senare ”The Hype”. Up stepped Paul Hewson (”Bono”, vocals and ego), Dave Evans (The Edge, guitar, initially in a double-pack with his brother Dik), Adam Clayton (bass), and several others.
