Vad betyder SGLT2 hämmare?
SGLT2-hämmare är receptbelagda läkemedel som är godkända av FDA för att sänka blodsockret i kombination med diet och motion, hos vuxna med typ II diabetes. Läkemedel i SGLT2-hämmarklassen är canagliflozin, dapagliflozin och empagliflozin. Samtliga tre substanser är godkända i Sverige.

What are the side effects of Jardiance?
Kidney problems and ketoacidosis are other rare and serious side effects of Jardiance. Jardiance also has more common and treatable side effects, including yeast infections, urinary tract infections and increased urination. Help control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes when used with diet and exercise.
How does Jardiance treat perineal infection?
The infection is caused by bacteria entering the layer of tissue just under the skin in the perineum, the space between the anus and scrotum in men and the anus and vulva in women. Along with other type 2 diabetes drugs in the same class, called sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, Jardiance is used to lower blood sugar levels.
Can Jardiance cause necrotizing fasciitis of the perineum?
Necrotizing fasciitis of the perineum wasn’t reported in people who took Jardiance in clinical studies. But rare cases of this infection have been reported in both males* and females* taking Jardiance since the drug has been on the market.
Does Jardiance cause urinary tract infections (UTI)?
Urinary tract infection (UTI) was one of the most common side effects seen during clinical studies of Jardiance. This affected both men and women, but was more common in women than men. Urinary tract infections occurred in 17.0 percent to 18.4 percent of women.
